Emily Walton, MA, MEd, LPC
I’m an Arizona native but an adventurer at heart and have lived in many different locations across the US as well as Germany. I have lived experience as a collegiate athlete and military wife. I’ve been married for 15 years and have two elementary-aged children and two Labrador retrievers.
I feel passionate about providing care for those who wish to overcome challenges related to eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image, or who want to challenge diet culture. In this work, I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Internal Family Systems, somatic coping skills, and Intuitive Eating principles. We will work together to come up with a plan that meets your individual needs. I often work with registered dietitians, psychiatrists, and other medical providers, as part of an outpatient treatment team if necessary.
I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relational or parenting issues, self-esteem concerns, or who want to heal from generational or complex trauma.
I believe in an embodied, holistic, Health At Every Size, trauma-informed approach. Authenticity, compassion, and creativity are important to me. I hope you feel empowered as we grow together. I know first-hand that therapy can be healing, challenging, and rewarding and I am wholeheartedly ready when you are!
The Mission
My mission is to provide compassionate counseling services to adolescents, adults, and families seeking a safe space and collaboration in their personal growth.
I am honored to join my clients as they find their way through challenges. I provide embodied care and support to my clients and aim to keep in mind healing tends to be holistic (mind, body, spirit), knowing each journey is unique. It is my belief that through authentic relational connection clients become empowered to make the changes they are desiring and to connect with inner knowing, resiliency, and self-compassion.
“I know first-hand that therapy can be healing, challenging, and rewarding and I am wholeheartedly ready when you are!”
